Record highs and plenty of sun in January and February made for some early blooms for us this year. I love it. I consider myself solar-powered and this weather is exactly why I love living in the Lone Star State. I also love photographing flowers....even the tiniest petals look magnificent on camera. Around the house we inherited some beautiful trees but I am also proud to say I did all the planting in the front and back. I suffered a casualty this year when I forgot to cover my beautiful Hibiscus. But as for the rest....pretty much succeeding. Do I remember what my plants are called? Of course not. Do I struggle to keep them alive? Absolutely. Are the blooming? Yes! So proud. No photo shoots this Sunday so I had so much fun taking pictures around the house. The Glorious Mountain Laurel. Rushed out to take photos as soon as I saw these stunning purple flowers. Wished they bloomed longer! White and Yellow Roses....planted and cared for by yours truly. This tree is out front and it is so cheerful to see coming and going from the house. Is this a Dogwood? No clue. But I love it. Random blooming shrub I planted out back to take up space. Can't remember what it is....I know they are super common in Austin I see them everywhere. These pink flowers are so cheerful to see out the kitchen window! This tree my husband planted last year and I want to say it's some sort of redbud? Either way it's purple blooms are just delightful. I planted these rose bushes out front about a year and a half ago. They are thriving! I have no clue what they are called but the hot pink roses are mini and they sprout out in little groups together. And a few of my best back-patio pals in all the land.
