Wait...those don't look like Lara Bars. That's right - they're not. I tried to make them and it was a Colossal Waste Of Time A sticky-gooey-almost-ruined-the-blender-mess. Who do I think I am, Lara?! I was so excited to make these for Ben...and it sounded simple enough: Dates, prunes, raisins, dried fruits, walnuts, cinnamon, into blender. Mold into pan. Refrigerate and cut into bars. Yeah right?! This adventure stopped at "blender". They are too sticky to blend. You will have to add liquid, but then they are too runny to hold any shape. So. I sank into despair as precious nap minutes whizzed past me and I risked my fingers cleaning out the blender. In these moments I decided I was definitely not going to document this disaster with a blog post. Back to my tried and true Minimalist Baker to provide me with a snack recipe for my boys.
