Oh my word.  What. A. Winter.  I am from Illinois and there is nothing I can't stand more than gray, cold, mist, sleet, ice, bundling up, and feeling like you've been slapped in the face when you walk outside.  Austin....this is not why I moved to Texas!  This winter has been tough, friends, and thankfully I think we are through the worst.

This last Sunday afternoon....no plans...no obligations....the sun came out.....and we just hung out in the backyard.  

It was also the first time in months none of us were sick, everyone was rested, the stars aligned and it was divine.

I busted out my big-boy equipment and spent a few minutes capturing some moments.  

Boy I'm glad I did.  These mean just as much to me as any "lets get dressed up and do a 'session'" photos.  Time is flying and I have been way too caught up in surviving the day.

When I look at these the song "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys plays in my head.

Sun.
Happy.
Family.
Laugh.
Carefree.

I didn't meet the Hinsons until baby Keaton was over a month old but I did have the honor of taking his pictures over the course of his first year.  We met during bluebonnet season and they used the photos for a "sip n see" invitation. They are funny, easy going, and I can just feel how much they love each other even if it's through a camera lens.  I look forward to every session with them.

It is such a treat to work with families time and time again.  Alexander came in for newborns and I was lucky enough to capture his first year milestones.   Spring family photos are planned soon and I will come back and edit this post and include those beauties - his mom is gorgeous inside and out....so photogenic.  I can't wait!
